These Chapter webpages give you a link to the Canadian members of WAI, which is an organization called Women in Aviation International. While the CWIA Conference is not connected with the WAI organization nor affiliated with its chapters, many members of WAI in Canada (and some from the USA) attend and sometimes help run this biennial CWIA conference for the networking, inspiration and meeting of friends.
The focus of Women in Aviation International is to encourage more women to become involved in the aviation industry. There are over 12,000 members worldwide working as pilots, maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, flight attendants, in airport operations, airline management and in the military. WAI offers networking, career support and amazing scholarships for licenses, type ratings and career progression. WAI also encourages young women to pursue aviation through career days and girl guide badges. At the WAI chapter meetings in Canada there are guest speakers, they conduct aviation related tours, or do social activities. Everyone is welcome.
