About the Conference

Canadian Women in Aviation Conference is a biennial event focused on encouraging and inspiring women in all aspects of aviation. Started in 1991 in Fort Langley, BC it has travelled the country as far east as Halifax, NS (2001) and as recent as Calgary, AB (2017).

This three day event is run entirely by volunteers.  While there is no over-arching organization; every two years a passionate group of individuals decide they want to hold the conference in their town, and the conference is reborn.

Supporting, educating and fostering networking between women from the first spark of interest in aviation through training and recruitment and well into the final stages of their careers and retirement is what keeps the conference alive.

If you are interested in helping to further this grass-roots approach to creating an inclusive conference that encourages women to pursue their dreams in aviation, please consider volunteering! Help us bring #CWIA2019 to your city.
