Britt-Marie Karlin works as a flight safety analyst for the Swedish Government, and one of the duties is to coordinate accident investigations and recommendations between the accident investigation authority and Swedish Civil Aviation Authority.
Britt-Marie represents Sweden in the Network of Analysts (NoA), an advisory group to European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). She is also point of contact for the European Coordination Centre for Accident and Incident Reporting System (ECCAIRS) and is part of the ECCAIRS steering committee. Other duties include being responsible for ICAO’s Annex13, accident and incident investigation and works closely with ICAO and the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority.
In November 2015 she had the chance to present on the Kebnekaise Accident from a Human Factors Point of View at the Safety Foundation conference International Air Safety Summit.
Earlier in 2015 Britt-Marie presented the Kebnekaise presentation at the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) annual conference.
Before coming to Sweden, Britt-Marie spent a few years as a flight safety analyst for the Thai government.
Her operational background consists of 26 years with Air Canada based in Toronto. She did her left seat check-out on the DC9, which remains her favourite airplane. Britt-Marie also started a company called The Flight Institute, specializing in IFR and ATR training.
